Somewhat surprisingly most of the talk in Germany following the big northern derby in the Bundesliga has centred around the unruly Hamburg fans that threw objects at Werder Bremen winger Marko Marin.
So much so, that Marin is quoted in Bild today wondering about the sanity of the HSV fans who had the temerity to throw a plastic object whilst he was in the process of taking a corner kick.
Marin said after Bremen’s 3-1 victory: “This is annoying for the football. I hope it is not customary to injure the opponent.”
So it seems it is left to 101GG to question the diminutive winger who appears to have taken a dirty dive off the back of being hit on the leg with a plastic cup. Yes, you read that correctly, a plastic cup. Disgraceful scenes.
The 22-year-old winger had opened the scoring in Werder Bremen’s win – all goals and highlights here.
Footage of Marko Marin being knocked over by a plastic cup can be seen here.

One other highlight from Hamburg 1 – Werder Bremen 3 was a home supporter, in the stands, catching the ball – now how often does this usually happen?!
