#WengerOut trends & heard at Emirates after Arsenal lose opening game at home to Villa

It all started so well for Arsenal today, with Olivier Giroud opening the scoring after just 5 minutes, carrying his excellent pre-season form into the season proper.

But then it all spiralled out of control, and Arsenal fans’ fears – that they’re far too short having bought just one untested player (Sanogo) were crystallised.

Arsenal finished with 10 men and went down 3-1 in a, retrospectively, tragicomic opening day defeat that has set alarm bells ringing.

An anti-Wenger feeling was already growing among the Arsenal support, and this was voiced today, as ‘Wenger Out’ not only trended on Twitter, but was also audibly heard at the Emirates.

The consensus against Wenger is now undeniably at its strongest, and the pressure has been heaped on the Arsenal manager to bring somebody in before the window closes. If he get that time…
