Walsall issue apology after tweet cussed “six fingered, inbred” Wolves, claim account was hacked

Whoever was in charge of Walsall’s official Twitter account on Tuesday night is likely to be looking for new employment on Wednesday.

In a shock result in League One on Tuesday, Walsall picked up a 1-0 win away at Wolves courtesy of Andrew Butler’s goal midway through the second half.

Then, after the full time whistle blew, came the offensive tweet from Walsall:

@OfficialWolves Better look next time you six fingered, inbred, dingle bastards. YOU’VE LET US DOWN AGAIN!!!!! @VitalWalsall @BescotBanter

That tweet was quickly deleted from Walsall’s Twitter timeline, and the Saddlers have since issue two more messages looking to make amends for any offense caused. The only problem is that those two new tweets posted by the club as an apology come across as abdication of responsibility with the claims that the Walsall Twitter account was hacked.

A copy of the original – now delated – Walsall tweet is below.
