“Everybody you bring in you hope is going to improve the quality you already have here. That’s what we’re hoping from all of them, just to be themselves and go about their work as well as they did at their previous clubs. They’re pleased that they’ve come here and we’re delighted to have them.” – Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish.
Optimism was rife at Anfield today as Liverpool unveiled summer signings Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Alexander Doni.
Despite a poor pre-season, all four Liverpool signings exuded confidence for the 2011/2012 season and Kenny Dalglish was in good form, with plenty of mental jousting with the press.
Among the most interesting tidbits to come out of the unveiling was the news that Steven Gerrard is on course to return in September from injury and that Alberto Aquilani may have a future at Anfield.
All the new players, pulled out the usual platitudes with Downing, Henderson and Adam all clearly excited to be playing for a club the size of Liverpool.
