Who’d be a mascot!
Sunday was another glorious day in the lives of Rangers supporters as the Ibrox giants claimed the SPL title for the second successive year after a narrow 1-nil victory over Hibernian at Easter Road.
Striker Kyle Lafferty was the hero of the match with a 17th minute strike, and in the post match celebrations the forward decided to entertain the onlooking Gers’ fans by taking out club mascot Broxi Bear as part of the celebrations.
With Broxi found posing in front of the Rangers fans, the mascot was attacked on the blindside by Lafferty who speared the over-sized bear to the ground much to the enjoyment of the onlooking supporters.
Kyle Lafferty’s comic assault on Broxi Bear can be seen here.
A second story to bring you from Rangers’ SPL title winning celebrations follows the ongoing love-hate relationship between Nacho Novo and Celtic pairing Aiden McGeady and Georgios Samaras.
As many may remember, twelve months ago when Rangers pipped the Bhoys to the championship in a thrilling last day finale, pint-sized Spanish striker Novo recalled slurs made by his bitter rivals as he goading his enemies singing “ooo-aah Samaras, said ooo-aah Samaras†in the title celebrations. (Refresh your memory here.)
Fast forward to last weekend and Novo was at it again.
Asked if he had a message after Rangers’ win, Nacho said “to my friend McGeady… I steal his trophy again… And to Samaras, ha ha ha again!”
