Arsenal’s transfer recruitment stepped up a gear on Friday as former Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh arrived at the Emirates to officially be unveiled as the Gunner’s first signing of the summer.
Chamakh, 26-year-old, joins the London club on a free transfer and on a reported “long-term contract,” and will look to bolster the Arsenal forward line for the next few seasons to come.
Having come through the ranks at Bordeaux, the Moroccan international Chamakh has become a pivotal figure for both his club and country. Known particularly for his blistering pace, Chamakh also has excellent ball and dribbling skills as well as boasting a strong aerial ability.
Chamakh scored 79 goals in 293 appearances for Bordeaux as well as netting 27 times in 53 appearances for Morocco.
