They were comic goals. I haven’t spoken to the players about it. There were so many individual mistakes it would take all day.” – Brighton boss Gus Poyet.

For the first time ever in the history of the FA Cup, the oldest cup competition in world football remember, Brighton scored three own goals in a match, during their 6-1 rout by Liverpool at Anfield.

A number of smart asses have commented that the Seagulls actually scored more goals than Liverpool in the FA Cup 5th round tie but of all the seven goals on the day, as well as the Luis Suarez penalty miss and streaker, there was only one moment that everyone was talking about.

Even, Liam Bridcutt, who claimed two own goals for Brighton, didn’t receive nearly the same amount of attention as the fifth Liverpool goal -a keepy uppy special from Lewis Dunk.

The 21-year-old has yet to score at the right end for Brighton but is set for global attention after attempting to cut out a Lewis Suarez cross, before taking a couple of touches and sending the ball over the line.

Dunk’s first touch was ok, the second was a shocker and in front of the Kop too…

Footage of Leiws Dunk’s own goal of the season contender is here.
