Uzbekistan’s most famous team, FC Bunyodkor, reportedly paid Cristiano Ronaldo 600,000 euros to convince the Portuguese star to travel to central Asia this week and spend some time entertaining the crowds.
Bringing some of the world biggest names in football to Uzbekistan has been a policy which has been a administered for some time now, and Bunyodkor have managed to establish themselves as a recognised name in world football having been managed by Felipe Scolari in recent times while Rivaldo has been signed at the club since 2008.
Ronaldo visited several landmarks in the capital Tashkent before having face time with the head of the Football Federation Uzbekistan. But the undoubted highlight of the trip was seeing CR9 showing off his tricks alongside a group of youngsters.
