Couple of things to note about this new clip of Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp showcasing that he has “still got it” in Ajax training.

First off, we have been down this route before and in July we featured a stunning training ground lob from the former Dutch national team forward.

Secondly, this will no doubt be somewhat bitter sweet for Arsenal fans wallowing in the despair of being seventh in the league, as their top-four challenge disintegrates.

Bergkamp is very much a reminder of the good times under Arsene Wenger and how the Gunners could do with more than just one world class forward in Robin van Persie. The latter of course moved level on 120 Arsenal goals with the non-flying Dutchman with his brace of penalties against Aston Villa on the weekend.

The latest clip comes from a recent Ajax training session and sees a left wing cross looped over by Ajax coach Frank De Boer to Bergkamp who smacks a stunning strike, on the volley, into the near post.

So quick is Bergkamp’s effort that the camera has problems keeping up but is an excellent illustration of how to volley the ball from the 42-year-old.
