Touching upon such a sensitive subject as Hillsborough can be a hugely emotive affair. And so it proved for British MP and Culture Secretary Andy Burnham, as the member of government found himself heckled during yesterday’s 20th anniversary memorial at Anfield.
The MP was only one sentence into his address when the Kop began shouting back, chanting “Justice for the 96” at Burnham with the guest speaker forced to remain silent as the locals made their feelings known.
The politician was drowned out. The protest had been voiced.
