Udinese manager Francesco Guidolin has been busy in the build up for this Coppa Italia tie and stressed that Antonio di Natale might not be retiring yet. The manager continued: “The most important thing for us is Serie A, but clearly we’ll do everything we can to get through the Coppa Italia round too, I certainly won’t have many choices in attack, but I’ll be forced to make the most of what I have. Maurizio Domizzi could be available, though he needs to be evaluated in the final training session.”
Guidolin had to defend comments made by his star stiker di Natale, the manager commented the following: “He had a moment of bitterness that prompted him to say those things, certainly down to the fact we are not having a great season. Straight after a match you can be feeling tense, but he must try to rediscover his sense of calm, even if I know he has some family problems right now.”
Walter Mazzari, the Inter coach, has warned his side not to make the same mistakes that caused them to lose 2-0 to Lazio on the weekend. Mazzari also downplayed the importance of the Coppa, saying: “It’s great if we win the Coppa Italia but it mustn’t be seen as a specific target. Having said that, we’ll obviously do everything we can to go through.”
Mazzari will be able to pick striker Diego Milito but his fellow forward Mauro Icardi will no be available due to problems stemming from his operation.
The winner of this tie, will probably face AC Milan, which could be an extra spur for Inter to force another derby with their rivals.
