Two FEMEN activities hold a shirt-less protest on a German football show (“Boycott FIFA Mafia!”)
- Updated: December 12, 2013
We haven’t heard from FEMEN in while, but this week German TV audiences got a shock when two women staged a topless protest on a football show.
As a reminder, FEMEN are a female activist group who have a held a series of protests against football’s governing bodies in recent years.
Their anti-soccer stance came to prominence in the run-up to Euro 2012, as the women staged several attention grabbing demonstrations believing that the competition would boost the sex trade in the Eastern European countries.
Now two members of FEMEN have launched a new attack on the “FIFA Mafia!” during a football chat show on Germany’s ZDF, with the general understanding being that FEMEN are protesting against the terrible working conditions of migrants in Qatar ahead of the 2022 competition.
While the women were screaming for a boycott of FIFA – whatever that means! – viewers may have found it hard to take the protest seriously as the ladies had footballs painted over their breasts in order to the reveal too much skin on TV.
