After Arsene Wenger released his emotions live on French TV, it was the turn of the French national team to enjoy their fantastic 1-1 draw in Spain as they headed down the tunnel and back to their dressing room.
To recap for anybody with amnesia, the reigning World and European champions Spain were denied a 25th straight win in major championship qualifier when Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud headed home a 94th minute equaliser for Didier Deschamps’ men.
Sergio Ramos had put Spain ahead in the 25th minute, before France and Tottenham goalie Hugo Lloris turned in an excellent performance as he saved a Cesc Fabregas penalty before making a clinical double save on the stroke of halftime which kept the French in contention.
After the fulltime whistle and their last-gasp leveller, the mood in the French camp was understandably euphoric.
One by one as they headed back to their changing room, the likes of Patrice Evra, Karim Benzema, Mathieu Valbuena and Franck Ribery took it turn to express their joy into a camera which was filming the players as they headed off the pitch.
