The Dutch press yesterday reported that Spurs were lining up a 20 million Euro bid for PSV’s Memphis Depay, but it looks like they didn’t even need to go that high for the exciting winger.
The Mirror report that Tottenham have had a £10m bid accepted by PSV for Depay, with Nacer Chadli going in the other direction as a makeweight.
Chadli arrived at the Lane last summer amid Spurs’ supermarket sweep, but the Belgian international has been deemed surplus to requirements by new boss Pochettino by the looks of it.
Though Louis van Gaal – who managed Depay at the World Cup – had advised the youngster to remain in the Eredivisie for one more year, the winger has seemingly decided that there’s no time like the present, and is ready for the Premier League.
Next up will be the medical, personal terms, but with the fee agreed and all three parties happy, it shouldn’t be long before an announcement is made.
