This is an ouch! story with a twist.
Marcelinho, the 36-year-old Brazilian journeyman who starred in the Bundesliga with the likes of Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg in the noughies, had a tooth knocked out during the match between Sport Recife and Nautico.
Whilst cameras caught the tooth fly out of Marcelinho’s mouth in HD quality – an incident worth seeing by itself – the story didn’t stop there.
According to locals reports the tooth was capped with a gold crown worth around $4000, and Marcelinho was thus determined not to let that expensive gnasher go to waste. However, despite rigorous and multiple searches for the tooth it never showed up, leaving the footballer to post a reward of $1000 to anyone able to find it.
