One of the headlines in Gazzetta dello Sport this morning is “Another lesson for the English” with Napoli completing a 7-1 aggregate victory for Italian teams over sides from the Premier League over the last week.
Following the recent Aston Villa mascot snub for his Manchester City counterpart, it appears that English football can also learn from Serie A about spreading the love pre-kick off.
As the two sides lined up in the San Paolo stadium, one Napoli mascot, at the end of the row, took it upon himself to give both Ezequiel Lavezzi and Walter Gargano a kiss just before the players moved on.
The eventual two-goal scorer and Uruguayan midfielder took it in great spirits and a second mascot, a blonde girl, even got in on the act. Quality stuff.
