“Sometimes not even in my house I felt more love than I felt at Arsenal… It’s not up to me anymore and it’s just now about Arsenal and wherever it has to be and that’s it. I don’t want to say anything else, I just want to be focused for the World Cup because it is the most important thing – the rest is the future and I’m not interested in the future.”
The proposed transfer of Arsenal’s talisman Cesc Fabregas has been occupying all of the back pages over the past week.
Xavi and Puyol have both stated that they would love Fabregas to join them at the Camp Nou and to be part of a Barca golden age. We have also heard from his father, claiming that his son should be allowed to fulfil his dreams and return to Barcelona from Arsenal.
Cesc himself has kept his own counsel on the transfer, until today.
When questioned on his future he told reporters that he had a discussion with Arsene Wenger and despite not naming Barcelona by name, he stated that the matter was now in Arsenal’s hands.
