Wayne Rooney’s pre-season just took a bad knock.
Manchester United announced on their website on Thursday that:
Following a scan this evening on a hamstring injury sustained in training, it has been decided that Wayne Rooney should return home immediately for further assessment and rehabilitation. It is anticipated he will be unavailable for selection for a month.
The news couldn’t be better for transfer rumour gossips, as conspiracy theories instantly started flying about that Rooney is leaving Manchester United’s tour because the striker is leaving Old Trafford.
Rooney was linked to a move to Chelsea by the Independent in the last 24 hours, with the Blues prepared to sell Fernando Torres or Demba Ba should they be successful.
