Amongst the multitude of mega-matches on Sunday, the football in Holland - a variety of European and relegation playoffs – were far less understated. Nevertheless a couple of interesting clips were thrown up.
NEC, despite winning a thriller 3-2, saw their Europa League dreams evapourate to rivals Vitesse having lost the first leg 2-0.
That royally pissed off their supporters; so much so that NEC captain and goalie Gabor Babos cut short a post-match interview on live TV to dash over to a large gang of fans behind the goal who were trying to break down a fence in an attempt to invade the pitch.
Elsewhere, perennial Eredivisie strugglers De Graafschap were relegated by Den Bosch on Sunday. That produced a lovely moment as Rogier Meijer, captain of De Graafschap, was consoled by his young daughter Saar after the slumping on the pitch after the final whistle.
