Porto’s final home game of the season against Sporting Lisbon was packed with points of interest.
First off their was the hair issue.
Having wrapped up the championship prior to the Classico with Sporting, the Dragons all appeared at Estadio do Dragao with celebratory blue and white dyed hair.
Then there was Hulk’s second goal of the game.
After the striker with the best name in football had earlier handed Porto the advantage, Hulk completed the win with a brilliant, late solo goal. The attacker ran 50-yards from the halfway-line, rounded keeper Patricio, and coolly slotted in his brace.
Lastly, Porto’s Fernando may have posted the happiest reaction in football history to getting sent off.
Whilst Sporting were down to nine-men after Oguchi Onyewu and Anderson Polga had earlier been sent for early baths, Porto had Fernando harshly red carded in the final seconds of the game for a nothing challenge on Diego Rubio.
Fernando had every reason to be pissed over his dismissal, but with a raucous noise bellowing out of the ground amid a triumphant atmosphere, the Brazilian midfielder literally danced his way down the tunnel to the enjoyment of, well, everyone.
