It wasn’t just Jose Mourinho that was the new (returning) face on the Chelsea bench in the 1-0 pre-season win over the Singha All Stars on Wednesday.
There were also some intriguing displays from a smattering of players that could well become mainstays under “The Happy One” at Stamford Bridge in years to come.
First up was Brazilian right back Wallace who looks a real find. Bursting with energy, he won the penalty converted by Romelu Lukaku that secured the victory.
Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, an impressive talent who is barely known in England, started both halves of the friendly and looks like he could get a lot of playing time for Chelsea this coming season.
The third and final video below is Marco van Ginkel’s performance against Singha with the Dutch midfielder failing to stand out, according to reports, but it is early days.
