Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Espanyol was a significant day in the career of Brazilian enforcer Sandro.
The former Internacional defensive midfielder made his comeback from injury having been out with a knee injury since Spurs’ goalless draw at QPR in early 2013.
Sandro was sorely missed by Andre Villas-Boas’ side at the back end of 2012/2013 and it is no surprise that Tottenham have bought in a host of tough midfielders (Paulinho and Etienne Capoue) to add plenty of steel to the midfield this summer.
The returning Tottenham midfielder has made headlines with his admission that he came close to quitting due to the injury, in a video posted on his personal YouTube account, titled: “The best is back.”
