One things appears certain. David Beckham’s reintroduction to MLS soccer will be a far cooler affair then when Goldenballs joined the LA Galaxy back in 2007.
The commotion over Becks’ return to the United States took a turn for the worst last week after fellow LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan slammed Beckham as stingy, selfish and a poor captain in book excerpts published in Sports Illustrated.
Now back Stateside after his loan spell at AC Milan, Beckham has has his opportunity to fire back against the criticism at a press conference with local journalists.
Wearing an LA Galaxy polo-shirt and looking slightly peeved, Becks was asked head-on whether the comments made by Donovan would now made it difficult to play alongside the American forward in the same team.
Beckham: “I’m personally very professional when I am on the field. I don’t care what people say about me off the field, once I’m on the field I’m professional and if there is a chance for him to score, I will be giving him the ball… Me and Landon will talk… but that will be a private conversation.”
