Sunderland post celebratory dressing room picture on Twitter after penalties win at Old Trafford

For much of the Sunderland side, this could well be as good as it gets during their careers.

Certainly the likes of Vito Mannone and Phil Bardsley have never had it so good.

And, beating Manchester United to reach the Capital One Cup final is also a career highlight for Sunderland manager Gus Poyet.

For Bardsley, John O’Shea and Wes Brown, it also marked a night when they returned to their former club in giants Manchester United and produced a famous victory for the 9,000 travelling Sunderland support.

So, you can hardly blame Bardsley and O’Shea for tucking into the beers in the dressing room, as shown by the Craig Gardner picture posted on Twitter celebrating the Sunderland victory.

This was followed by another image, from the official Sunderland Twitter account.
