Amazing scenes played out in the Argentino B (6th division in Argentina) Group F on Sunday which will likely leave you with eyes widened and mouth agape.
Huracan Las Heras travelled to Club Atletico Union in a clash between the bottom two teams in the group but a win for the home side would have taken them on to the next round.
With the score at 1-1, Club Atletico Union launched an attack, beat the Huracan keeper and the ball appeared to be travelling into the goal.
Only for Huracan’s substitute keeper Fernando Espinoza, who was warming up behind the goal, to enter the fray and simply push the ball away from goal.
Club Atletico Union players went ballistic. But all they got from the referee was a corner and Espinoza was yellow carded.
Espinoza later blamed his part in the game on “instinct” whilst Union were denied a win that would have taken them through.
