African club football is getting back down to business following AFCON 2012, and this weekend saw the opening round of the African Champions League take place.
Egyptian giants Zamalek – who have had their domestic season suspended since the tragedy in Port Said earlier this month – returned to the pitch in Tanzania, as the former African champions were held to 1-1 draw by Young Africans.
Hamis Kiiza put Young Africans in front with a golazo you won’t have seen, as the forward curled a fabulous shot from outside the area that cannonned off the underside of the bar in the 36th minute. The lead was held until the final 17 minutes when forgotten striker Amr Zaki netted the equaliser for the Egyptians.
The standout moment of the match though, belonged to Zamalek’s number seven Hazem Mohamed Emam.
With the scores level at 1-1 in the 76th minute, the precocious 23-year-old Hazem tormented Yonug Africans’ Stephano Mwasika with a mesmerising series of step-overs that culminated with a nuts! on his bamboozled opponent.
If Neymar would have done it (as is compared to in this video), the world would probably be wetting their collective pants at this.
