A little over a year ago we were stunned to see Jari Litmanen still banging in the goals in Finland and despite his advancing years the former Ajax and Liverpool forward was still capable of notching outstanding overhead kicks.
At the ripe old age of 40, Litmanen continues to ply his trade in the top division of Finnish football for HJK Helsinki.
Litmanen moved from Lahti (where he scored the golazo above) to HJK in April and is one of the only professional players to have played in four decades.
On Saturday Litmanen proved he has “still got it” with a cracking goal in the Suomen Cup final against KuPS which was the opener in the 2-1 victory for HJK, after extra time.
Litmanen picked up the ball on the edge of the box and slammed in an unstoppable half volley into the far corner.
