Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior has tweeted a picture of himself posing in Chelsea’s new shirt, thereby essentially putting an end to speculation linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Oscar was part of the shirt launch, which features the logo of new sponsors Yokohama Rubber Company, and the fact that the Brazilian was chosen to feature was telling in itself.
Following the January arrival of Juan Cuadrado and the possible arrival of Barcelona star Pedro this summer, Oscar’s future at the Bridge has been looking increasingly precarious, with Italian champions Juventus among the interested parties.
But Oscar’s tweet following the launch effectively puts paid to those rumours, with the Brazilian speaking ambitiously about the upcoming campaign.
The post was quickly retweeted by Chelsea’s account, in what was possibly a coordinated move by the club to quash all talk of him leaving.
