Spain boss Vincent Del Bosque hints that Man United keeper David de Gea will be in WC squad [AS]

Unfortunately Spain will be without Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes after he was ruled out for 7 months with damage to his anterior cruciate ligament.

Iker Casillas has hit spot nailed on in the Spain World Cup squad, but Valdes’s injury has thrown up a big chase for the other two spots.

The likes of Diego Lopez, Pepe Reina and David De Gea will all have high hopes of making the squad.

Asked about De Gea, manager Vicent Del Bosque said “Of course we have him in mind; he is one of the potential candidates to be called. He has been with us several times already”.

Rumours are spreading that Real Madrid number 1. Diego Lopez will be the man to miss out, having won only 1 cap for Spain in 2009.
