Sorry American soccer fans for pooping on your parade this Thursday but sadly your broadcasters have once again shown how the land of the elastic jeans still has trouble getting to grips with football facts.
Bloomberg, the financial news channel, recently ran a report on ESPN’s purchase of the rights to broadcast Premier League matches. So far, so good. Until that is that they decided to supplement the news story with footage of the English game. And that’s when things began to unravel.
We can just about forgive the broadcaster for featuring Christian Dailly in the report despite the fact that the defender left the English top flight for Rangers back in 2008. But Ronaldo. That’s a step too far!
The Bloomberg report can be seen here.
