In an interview with Bein Sports, Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala said he would rather join Chelsea than Manchester City.
The 23-year-old French international is admired by a host of top clubs and is highly-valued by Porto who would only sell if a massive offer came in.
Mangala said: “It is true that I love the Premier League because it is a spectacular championship. In January, there were discussions with City, but it fell through because the two clubs could not reach an agreement. (Choosing between) City or Chelsea? Chelsea because it is London.”
The big centre-half with an eye on England’s capital city will be going to the World Cup in Brazil in a few short weeks and only wants to concentrate on that for the moment, “My goal now is the World Cup. We will see what happens after that. I told (my agent) Jorge Mendes that I don’t want to know anything about the transfer window until then.”
