Sky Sports News have got about canvassing opinion from some of the most high-profile people surrounding Scottish football to discuss whether is was right that George Burley was fired from being the Scotland manager.
Craig Brown was quick to point out that “he didn’t just become a bad manager… It didn’t work out for him though with the national team. Next, Charlie Nicholas pointed out the SFA’s culpability in the failed tenure of Burley as “George should hold his hands up… but the SFA have not been too clever in the process either.”
Slightly more harsh, Davie Provan quipped that “it is the right decision… the change should have been made after the Holland game,” while Kevin Gallagher alluded to the lack of quality in Scotland as a whole as a reason why Burley was not successful with the Tartan Army.
