The lead story this Friday in the Premier League surrounds news of Liverpool’s discussions with Kuwaiti tycoon Nasser Al-Kharafi (pictured) regarding a potential takeover of the Anfield club.
It is understood that meetings have already taken place between the respective parties, with Al-Kharafi, who has an estimated Â£9-12 billion fortune, said to be negotiating a Â£400 million buy-out of both American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett’s stakes.

In other Liverpool related news, Steven Gerrard today appeared in court to answer his charges of assault and affray in relation to the nightclub brawl several weeks back, with the Liverpool midfielder submitting a not guilty plea to the court. Gerrard’s court case has been set for March 20th.
