According to the boffins at Opta, Simon Mignolet is only 25 saves shy of Pepe Reina’s total for the whole of last season (73).
Mignolet has been excellent since arriving at Liverpool from Sunderland and is one of the key reasons behind Liverpool’s excellent start to the season.
On Saturday, Mignolet was excellent, making a succession of fine saves at Goodison Park as Liverpool secured a late 3-3 draw in a ding-dong derby match that thrilled the watching public.
On quite a few occasions, it was Mignolet versus Belgium team mate Romelu Lukaku and the Liverpool custodian made some outstanding saves.
