The big game in France on Sunday night was St Etienne’s 2-2 draw with league leaders PSG.
Les Verts pulled off a superb comeback having fallen 2-down to goals from Pastore and Zlatan in the first half, with Francois Clerc’s excellent outside-of-the-boot beauty levelling the match in the second half.
But the match finished on a sour note following a terrible late foul by St Etienne forward Brandao on PSG’s Brazilian international Thiago Silva.
Brandao stomped on Thiago Silva’s ankle when the forward mistimed a tackle in the final moments of the match. Silva’s limb appeared to turn elastic after being trodden on, and the poor challenge enraged PSG’s Englishman David Beckham who was filmed spouting a series of expletives in Brandao’s face after the incident.
Brandao only received a yellow card for his tackle.
Footage of Brandao’s horror stamp on Thiago Silva’s ankle, and David Beckham’s reaction, can be seen below.
