Sepp Blatter goes on Twitter to praise Cristiano Ronaldo in public, accused of pandering to the Portuguese star

As soon as the final whistle blown in Stockholm, Fifa President Sepp Blatter turned to Twitter to lavish praise on Cristiano Ronaldo. However was the senior Swiss citizen just playing politics again?
Blatter drew scorn from Ronaldo just a couple of weeks ago when, following an event at the Oxford Union, the Fifa crony said that he prefers Lionel Messi to Cristiano. Moreover, the old-timer made fun of the Real Madrid superstar’s playing style in cartoonish fashion on stage.
Following Tuesday night’s wonder-show from Ronaldo against Sweden, Blatter sidestepped those earlier comments to shovel stardust on the hat-trick scoring forward.

Blatter’s tweet was instantly picked up by the worldwide media, with many observers claiming that Blatter was pandering to Ronaldo.
