PSV were denied victory at NEC last weekend largely in part to the Eindhovenaren’s loss of two players after having initially taken the lead, with Danko Lazovic and Edison Mendez both receiving their early marching orders before the hosts claimed a last-gasp leveller.
Of the two, Lazovic’s red card was far the stupider. The forward managed to pick up a pair of bookings for firstly ripping off his shirt after having scored a penalty for PSV (watch here) and then unforgivably handballing in the centre of the park when there was simply no need to do so.
But Lazovic’s ignominy was further highlighted by the striker’s behaviour as he trundled down the corridor back to the dressing room. Enraged, Lazovic decided to take his aggression out on the wall, only to come dangerously close to knocking himself over as he failed to keep his emotions in check.
Lazovic’s wall-punch moment of shame can be seen here.
