Saul Niguez is once again linked to Manchester United this Sunday.
The Spanish midfielder has been rumoured with a move to Old Trafford over the past few months, however so far all the talk has been hot air.
Now 21, Saul has been linked to the Premier League for several seasons.
Saul has appeared for Spain at all youth levels, and with that being the case it seems unlikely that Atletico Madrid would let him go.
Indeed, Ateltico have been trying to tie the midfielder down to a long term contract for a while. His present deal expires in 2020.
Calciomercato, quoting Spanish daily AS, report the Atleti’s latest contract proposal for Saul was rejected by the player’s father, with more talks expected to get underway shortly.
With a sense of tension implied between the player and club, one suspects Man United’s name has been thrown into the mix to stoke the flames further.
