Following plenty of paper speculation in both England and Spain over the future of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, the Telegraph decided to contact the player’s agent directly to see what they could find out.
In bad news for Arsenal and Chelsea fans, Khedira’s agent, Jorg Neubauer, not only denied that his client in is talks with the Gunners and the Blues, but that no contact at all has been made between the parties.
We are not in talks with Arsenal. I don’t think a fee can have been agreed, otherwise I would have been told.
When a club have an interest I am sure they will call me and we will speak about things. The same goes for Chelsea.
We are talking to Real Madrid about his contract, but nothing is close to being decided. Sami has just returned from the World Cup and has gone on holiday.
Of course, Neubauer’s claims run contrary to the huge amount of reporters saying something different, with the likes of Spanish news agency ABC going as far as to say that jose Mourinho has personally called Khedira to convince him to move to Stamford Bridge.
So who is telling the truth? That’s unclear.
