Sack Race: Rafa Benitez odds are slashed to 7/1 for the chop from Liverpool

Having lost to Lyon in dramatic fashion in front of their home fans in the Champions League to record their worst run of form for 22 long years, Liverpool are fearing that their season could be on the brink of spiraling out of control. And it’s only mid-October.

Looking down the barrel, the odds on Rafa Benitez being the first manager to lose his job in the Premier League has been slashed over-night to 7/1. Should Liverpool lose to bitter rivals Manchester United this weekend, and the likelihood is that the odds will come down even further as speculation intensifies that the Anfield faithful have fallen out of love with their Spanish boss.
