Valencia’s serial goal scorer Roberto Soldado can count himself very fortunate not to have received a red card just 13 minutes into the Champions League match with BATE Borisov.
Video clearly shows Soldado took a sly punch at BATE Borisov’s Maksim Bordachev on the touchline with the defender forced to double up in pain.
Soldado would go on to score a penalty in Valencia’s 4-2 victory. Presumably the Valencia striker will only face sanction over this attack if it is included in the referee’s report to UEFA.
