Real Madrid fans were singing for Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Saturday night.
The biggest shock in La Liga played out at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend as Atletico Madrid recorded an amazing 1-0 away win at bitter city rivals Real.
After seeing their side lose to the Rojiblancos, a group of Real Madrid fans, perhaps playing up for the cameras, were filmed singing for ex-boss Jose Mourinho to come back to Los Blancos to save their team.
That Real fans would be singing for Mourinho is an incredible about-turn, as the Special One left Spain this summer with very few supporters crying out for the Portuguese boss to stay for a fourth season in Madrid.
Yes, it’s true that a certain core of Madridstas were fans of Mourinho even at the end of his tenure, however a sizable majority of Real fans were only too happy to him leave their club. Those haters were riled by Mourinho’s incessant provocation of the Spanish media, and many viewed him as an embarrassment to one of the grandest of football institutions in the world.
Several months on though, many Madrid fans were filmed singing for Mourinho after the Atleti defeat.
