Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (total £26.96, down £23.04)

Damn, damn, damn.

The white flag is up, and we admit that our initial £25 stake into this season’s betting has been a washout so far. After scraping the barrel for a couple of weeks now, our midweek predictions again went down the toilet. Enough is enough.

So time has arrived to invest another £25 into our betting fund as we look to turn to tide of our losing streak. Trust us, it will turn. And if you want to be profitting when it does then you can play along with us by opening an account with William Hill and getting your FREE £25 for all new players. First up this weekend we are backing a triple-homer throughout the three top divisions in England. Still without a point to their name, Portsmouth head to Aston Villa on Saturday – the Villains fresh from securing local bragging rights after winning the derby over Birmingham. In the Championship, with Boro and the Baggies duke it out at the Riverside (full match preview here), third-placed Newcastle will be aiming to bounce back from their Blackpool defeat by turning over Plymouth at St. James’ Park. While in League One, eight-wins-out-of-eight Leeds will be trying to extend that record to nine by beating Gillingham at Elland Road.

Backing Aston Villa (2/5), Newcastle (4/11) and Leeds (4/9) to all claim home wins, we aim to turn a £2 into a £5.52 return.

Despite only drawing at home to Bordeaux midweek in the Champions League, domestically Juventus have started the Serie A season in fine fettle with three wins out of three including back-to-back away wins at the capital clubs Roma and Lazio. This weekend lowly Livorno head to the Stadio Olimpico and a home win is definitely on the cards.

Backing Juve all the way, we are staking three separate £2 bets on the score being 2-nil (9/2), 2-1 (7/1) and 3-nil (13/2) to Juve in which we will receive returns of £11, £16 or £15 respectively.

Lastly, on Sunday Spurs head to their bogey team Chelsea, with the Blues riding high at the top of the table with a perfect 100% start to the season. Later in the evening, and over in Spain, Real Madrid looked to have received a gentle return to domestic action after their Champions League exploits in Zurich by hosting newbies Xerez at the Santiago Bernbeau.

With the Pensioners and Los Blancos looking to forward to games with goals written all over them, we are staking £1 on both Frank Lampard (6/4) and Raul (6/5) to both score, with a winning ticket yeilding a £5.50 return.
