The Copa Libertadores has a reputation for golazos, crazy challenges and mass brawls with South America’s premier club competition usually serving up plenty of excellent viral clips.
Vasco da Gama’s 2-1 win at Alianza Lima was no different on Tuesday evening with a couple of stand out videos.
Midfielder Fellipe Bastos made a name for himself with a fine brace. The first was a deflected effort but there was no questioning the second, a terrific strike into the top corner which can be seen here.
Late on there was drama as substitute Nilton launched himself into a tackle on the left touchline and somehow managed to fly in the air and connect with the head of Alianza Lima defender Giancarlo Carmona.
Nilton, who had only been on the pitch for seven minutes, was shown a straight red card and a melee involving both teams ensued.
