One of the more bizarre incidents this week, saw Mario Balotelli slam into the post during Inter’s 3-0 Coppa Italia defeat at Sampdoria on Wednesday night with the Ghanaian-born striker caught collapsing minutes later after complaining of respiratory problems after his painful collision.

Tests later proved he had suffered severe groin trauma after his legs had wrapped round the post, but thankfully Balotelli recovered sufficiently to take part in training on Thursday.
