Nemanja Vidic was the star of the end of season Manchester United Player of the Year awards ceremony last night. The Serbian centre back scooped the awards for fans’ Player of the Year as well as the players’ Player of the Year.
The first award was presented by Usain Bolt (who struggled to pronounce Vidic’s name) and Jim Rosenthal also had fun with the Jamaican runner and the United defender during both announcements.
Vidic admitted “To be honest I don’t have so many individual awards, that’s why I am a bit confused and my speech is not the best. Next time my speech will be a bit better.”
Federico Macheda won the Academy Player of the Year award.
