So Dimitar Berbatov’s miss at Sunderland was bad, but in truth it wasn’t too decisive. By contrast, had Masoud Shojaei not proved to be a complete numpty then Real Madrid could already be out of the Spanish title race.
On Saturday night in La Liga Real Madrid sneaked a late 3-2 victory over Osasuna after the visitors had stunned the Bernabeu by twice taking the lead against Los Blancos. And it could, and should, have been 3-2 to Osasuna in the 65th minute but Masoud royally screwed up scoring into an open net for a truly horrendous miss.
The action started when twinkle-toes Ruper managed to keep the ball in play tight on the left touchline. Ruper managed to play in Javier Camunas, who inturn threaded a defence-splitting pass through to Krisztian Vadocz who found himself one-on-one with Iker Casillas.
Vadocz then shirked responsibility of shooting on goal, instead opting to pass square to Masoud Shojaei who was free as bird alongside him in the box. And then the horror moment as the Iranian skewed his effort off target from seven yards out.

Aside from Shojaei’s error, the story of the match was a man-of-the-match winning performance from the world’s most expensive player Cristiano Ronaldo, who chipped in with a brace.
