With the Big 2′s Jese Rodriguez and Gerard Deulofeu (Real Madrid & Barcelona respectively) grabbing all the attention, it has almost slipped under the radar that ‘the next Xavi’, Oliver Torres, is also taking part at the U20 World Cup.
As can be seen from the post’s title though, Oliver has a bit of Iniesta about him too; in fact a more accurate description would be the next ‘Xaviniesta’.
The Atletico Madrid canterano was magisterial in Spain’s midfield as La Rojita beat France 2-1, controlling the play and dictating the tempo throughout.
Valued at around €10 million, Man City are known to be keen, perhaps even more so now with Pellegrini in charge.
A loan move may be the more likely option, however, as Diego Simeone sees his future at Atleti, but isn’t quite ready to give him the playing time he wants as of yet.
