Arsenal fans will not be surprised how Jack Wilshere performed for England on Wednesday night, after all the dynamic midfielder has been steadily progressing into a star performer ever since returning from an 18-month lay-off.
Prior to England’s victory over Brazil, Wilshere had not played for England since June 2011 but the Arsenail midfielder returned to the fold with a man of the match performance at Wembley.
Wilshere was everywhere, snapped into the heels of the Brazilians and also brought attacking verve and a willingness to run from deep to proceedings.
Steven Gerrard had talked up Wilshere in the build-up to England’s game and the Arsenal schemer now looks like being one of the big success stories from the international friendly.
Arsene Wenger must have been purring…
If England and Arsenal can keep him fit…
