“I need to watch the replays on TV to understand what I did for the two goals. All I know is that I was dribbling and then I was in front of goal… I’m a fan of Messi, I know he scored 5, but I only saw one. I’m rooting for him to score several more great goals so I can continue copying him.” – Neymar.
Whilst all of Europe is wondering if anyone can stop Lionel Messi, the South American equivalent of the Champions League also treated us to a one man show of epic proportions.
Neymar suggested in his one-man demolition of Internacional that he could be one of the few players on the planet who can come near to Messi as he claimed a hat-trick to secure a 3-1 win for Santos in the Copa Libertadores.
Despite just scoring a penalty in the first half, Neymar looked up for it, hitting the post and also producing some sensational skill that is well worth a watch.
In the second half, Neymar claimed two golazos in the space of 11 minutes. First he ran from his own half past three defenders to score a brilliant second and then to make it 3-1, the Santos wonderkid claimed a remarkably similar goal with another lung bursting run.
